yes you can get lower gears for your 205, it all depends on what you are goin to use the truck for? tire size, gear ratio all make a difference. check out off road designs web site.

are you planning on building a rock crwaling machine or do you just want a bit of low range?
2:1 + rear end (3.7?) + trans (3.8?) = 2x3.7x3.8=28:1 roughly. di you need lower? most aplications don't. but if you want extra low then get a 203/205 doubler rather than re-gearing the 205.

if you want a standard, then yeah. If you wanna stay auto, doublers the real way to go. DOubler means modifying your tcase support, shiftler linkage and might mess with your driveshafts but i doubt it.

a doubler will require both driveshafts be modified and the after market 3:1 gears for a 205 are $$$$$$$ 205 is a strong case but the low range sucks balls specially with a auto...

no to mention u need a range box from a 203 and then a adapter for the combo new crossmeber location ect........

its more money to do the doubler and driveshafts plus buyin another t case too boot then by just buyin a black box or the 205 3t1kit or just aftermarket 205.

Swap the th350 for an SM465 or SM420, lower gears, shorter distance = better rear drive shaft angle AND it's a standard.

OR why not make it all longer? then get equal length drive shafts. with the front and rear shafts the same length you can blow the rear shaft and swap the front to the rear and drive home.

how bout scrapping the 205 and putting in a 241 (or whatever it is) chain drive. I've had no problems with mine.

He has a blazer man, the rear driveshaft is probably shorter than the front to begin with. The 205 is gear driven and a cast case this equals super tough and never going to break (never = almost never)

gear drive= insanely strong and good

chain drive= not so much
