my dads looking for a new truck and in his world the only thing better than lots of power is even more, now that is a saying to live by... anyway, hes looking at the new chevy and chevy is saying that they are planning on putting a 6.2L in it, now the question i have is, is that the same block as their 572? because is it is thats what hes thinking of putting in there.

i highly doubt its the same block. a 6.2L is roughly 365 cubes, the 572ci engine is wayy larger. To have the same block, it would have to de-stroked/bored by roughly 200 cubes!

Don't know much about their new 6.2L( hopefully its nothing like the old 6.2L) but their gas'r 6.0 is an awesome motor. Hauls solid, great gas towing motor.

the 6.2L should be based as the same engine as the 6.0L which is the latest version of the small block chev which has almost nothing in comon with the original small block, the 572 is a mark V (I think) big block

6.2L would be in the 380 cube range, my 383 is a 6.2L and the 6.2 chev deisel is 389ci

if he's got money to spend why doesn't he buy the new truck and then throw in a 572 chevy crate engine..that'd be pretty slick
