View Full Version : Alternator Upgrade

I've got an 89 XJ with a 95 4L in it. I want to upgrade my alternator so that I can run dual batteries for my accesories. What can I grab out of Pick a Part that will match with higher amperage. I don't want to burn out my electrical system attempting to figure this out on my own.
And if I upgrade is this going to screw up the computer?

No clue what you can upgrade with, but you could always get your alternator rewound for higher output. Or run dual alternators and some relays.

Dual alternators is starting to sound complicated. I'm just a guy with a 4x4 LOL. I'm not that hardcore just like to do the hobby thing and show off a bit. My alternator went today and I thought I might as well do the upgrade now as in later.[cheers] Thanx though.
