On top of the Rear axle is the VSS, IIRC.

vehiclespeed sesnor?? and whats iisc...... i dont htink i need it anyways im runnin the speddo off the tranny its going in a 5.0L swapped mazda b2200

its the abs sensor like others have pointed out already
don't worry about it if the vehicle its going into doesn't have abs

it is an ABS sensor and y ou dont have to hook it back up. [cheers] witht the build

It also drives the speedometer/odometer on many Fords. The auto trans have hissy fits if its not hooked up.
