ZF has the hyd clutch slave on the outside with an old style arm & throw out bearing set up. You can remove the hyd slave & cut off the bracket & run a mech. linkage if you are putting it into something old like a '79
Mazda has the slave attached to the throw out bearing.
so on the mazda the slave cyl is inside the bell housing so you cant really see it? thanx

Doesn't the mazda one not have a through out fork, it's a one peice unit with thebearing all inside the bell housing?

well their is a ZF with consentric slave...spelling, i know im way off...or in simpler terms, inside the transmission, only the heavy duty version is external slave....And yes, the maxda is all internal, slave pushes directly on the trowout baring...they come as one unit if you buy a new one. But their is also a 3rd 5 speed offered. For the longest time i thought i had the mazda but when i was doing my clutch, i took the shifter off just because, and according to my hanes manual, the way its fasened down the the trans. it wasnt the mazda. It was a SROD....something about a single rail over drive...and that just confused the hell outa me so i dont know what i have now. maby we should get some pics up of the different ones, just to clear things up...
