Hey we were wheelin the other day and my freind in his 4runner got a flat. He was bombing around in some mud in 2wd and had his music cranked and didn't notice his front tire was completely flat until he got onto pavement. We put on his spare and we didn't know whether or not he should use again with it having big sidewall (31" tire on a 15" rim) and him driving on it. I heard that it weakens the sidewall too much because it gets flexed so bad. The sidewall does feel pretty weak the sidewall bent so far that his rim was pretty well on the ground.

What do you guys say?:confused0006:

Did it pop a bead? If so it will be hard to check, but if not, then pop the bead and look for rubber shavings. If you have gotten to te point of shavings, then scrape it, or keep as a spare, but I wouldn't trust it for much more.

If it's poped off of te bead when wheeling, it'll be full of crap. Clean the crap out and after it's dry, the inside should be like a semigloss paint. If the sidewalls are flat and rough, same deal and get another one.

ya it popped a bead. He filled it back up though....with some crap and most likely a bit of water in it. I'll let the air out and get him to try and clean the inside out.
