hey guys im jamses friend usin his acount to ask a question

Ive got a 90 trooper with a body lift and maybe might go with a suspen lift but i havent bought tires for this project and this is going to be ran in eagle mountain mostly and some minor stave stuff im interested in getting these narrow tires that tsl makes 34 by 9.50 15r i almost want to get them or i could get 33,s by 10.50 tsl mud terains whats the best tire and no 12.50 will do they scrubb ive been told

so the moral of the question is what terain best fights these tires and if any one who noes eagle mountain what tires do you suggest ???

You've got the worst grammar I've ever seen in my life.

The TSL (which means three stage lug) series of tires are made by Interco. What exactly are you trying to buy here? I'm thinking the 34's are LTB's, but mud terrains? That's the name of a tire BFG makes. Either way, if they're both Swamper style tires, chances are in real life it won't make a big diff which one you choose. Get whichever costs less.

Get the 34x10.5 LTB's, problem solved. At least if you're actually going to wheel it...

Thats a good question !

Narrow tires will dig down to find bottom ------wider tires will float !

So the real qestion is -----------------------------what kinda driver are you ?

If you run narrow tires you will be finding the bottom of the trail --maybe not a bad thing depending on the trail your on !

If you are into the MUD runs -------Tire speed and flotation (IE wide Tire ) will get you through !

Every choice will have times when you wished youd chosen the other !

Good luck --------bruce

i ran 32 11.5 on my trooper completely stock, and could have ran my new 33's awsell, but decided i wanted a little more room and torqued my torion bars about 2.5 inches and made shackles to match. im now running 33 12.5 yokohama geolander m/t's and i like em, dont go for a skinny 33 (9.5 or 10 inches or w.e ) jsut get a nicely offset rim.

oh yeah and my 33's fit better than my 32's did, jsut because of the different rims

Skinnies can work good in a lot of situations. You are definitely talking about LTBs though - they are a good tire, a buddy of mine has a set and he says they are wearing fairly well.

I think 9.5 is TOO skinny though - sounds like a dually tire or something. I'd go with 10.5 bias ply (highest count you can find, 6 or 10 from interco),..nothing more than 12.5 though with 33's. The wider the tire the more contact on the road and the heavier it is..not to mention more difficult to DRIVE on the road!

I just looked on the interco site, the 9.5s you were looking at ARE special service tires, for duallies. For LTBs the only tire in a 34 you could manage is a 34x10.50 (15 inch). As for 33s, you are looking at 33x13.50, both 34 and 33 are 6 ply.

You can get a 33x12.50 in a TSL however, 8 ply.

well of course this is a wheeling project, the body lift is goin in at the shop right now

Thanks guys for the help I think i am going to have to settle with some 33,s by 10.50 15 r thornbird mud radials . Its either those or the bfg mud terains wich are more money ,but better quaility.

Of those two pick the mud terrains, because they are MUD TERRAINS, not ALL TERRAINS.

Yes. Thornbirds suck ass...Suck ass like IFS. I'd like to see a 4Runner, IFS, Torsion bars cranked up on thornbirds and 700 offroad lights. That would be the highlight of my day.

I have ran thorbirds a couple of times and like them but they suck on the road.I then went to a 33" TSL radial and i liked them, they were a 33x10.5 and at that time i had the same lift as you, there wasn't much room in there at all so 34's will be a hard squeeze unless you plan on more lift right away. Now i am running BFG's again and i hate them but that was all that was available at the time.Just my 2 cents.

Get used if you are on a budget. Go to bc4x4 and see what people are selling. Check out tires plus in mission as well, they tend to have a shitload of used stuff - that's where I got my 38s.

Abbsry sucks balls, they used to be great but not anymore. And stay the fuck away from Thornturds, it's a shitty tire all around. For posing more than anything else, but it doesn't even do that well, they wear as fast as a Swamper and I have heard of chunks of lugs coming off on the road.

hmmm lol well so they have used 33,s by 12.50,s ?

This is just a starter tire so i can at least get 4 bi ing ,Then i will save up and get some bfg mud terians so getting thornbirds does not worry me to much specialy on a budget, Hard to make money and go to school at the same time :(.

Go nuts, and get the 34" LTBs.. kinda sucky on the road, but livable. Off road will forgive all the on road. Those things work.
