i beleave the 2.8 in your b2 is timeing gears not chain just a little insite but what is it doing to make you think it was timeing chain? [cheers]

Cylinders are filled with gas. No hydrolock, runs but runs like shit. Can't think of anything else but timing...

sounds like the stupid bs electronic feedback carb that have been nothing but garbage on those 2.8's is over fueling it

thats what i thought we be a little lost on it

Man, the amount of gas that came out when pulled a plug, it should be hydrolocked by now. I've never seen a carb literally fill a cylinder, either. It was fucking brutal, after a few compression strokes it only misted out but the first few cranks it was like cleaning out a motor that's been underwater. Only it definetely wasn't water.

lol..thanks ....i was thinking of leaving it there cause it looks so good..but then i thought it might be a bit tought to load the car on it...

man :( i didnt knw the truck was that bad
just get a new engine it'll prolly save you time and money rather then puttin alot into that one?

4 litre bolts right in there tranny and everything you just have to wire it

i dont wanna do a engine swap

jakerngr

why not its so fun

do a compression test on your motor and see what you come up with
you may have a bent exhaust valve but it sounds like that carb is just dumping fuel into your motor.
is there excess fuel in all cylenders or just one??

ya i think it be the carb issue just the way the truck sputters stalls and low idle

Could be valves, hadn't occurred to me. Also, I only had #1 plug out. But one way or the other, a rich carb should not fill a cylinder with gasoline. Only so much can go in at a time, and it should also come out through the exhaust. The amount that came out, would have hydrolocked it anyways if the valves were opening and closing when they're supposed to. Meh, I told you not to buy that piece of shit...we could pull all the plugs and do a compression test, but to properly verify valve action we still have to pull the valve covers. And I really don't want anything to do with that fucking heap, period. Just take it to a shop and let them deal with it.

i can tell you right now compression isnt that great on that motor its at like 100 average when it should be at 150 or sumthin ... hah i already did one i think the highest one was 130 lowest was 95

or else just sell it to tyler due to he said he was gonna buy it if yoo didnt lol

Thats pretty shitty compression, prob only running on a couple cylinders If u wanna get rid of that thing ill take it, Or I also have a good running spare 2.8L, its set up for duraspark thou, easy enough to convert. or if u want to keep the feedback shit then just bolt it onto this engine. Ill sell the motor for 150$ and its in maple ridge has a decent clutch on it too.

*edit* the 2.8s had timing gears, not chains.

thats a good deal and way cheeper than paying somone to do the work that it needs

For what the motor is, that's not bad compression. It's not great, but if you have compresion in all your cylinders like that, you don't have a bent valve that's stuck. It could be out a tooth on the timing, but I'ld put my money on the carb from what you've said.

i would say the carb is fucked and either change the carb or pick up the 2.8 with the dura spark setup if there isa carb and mudule and hopefully some wireing but the wireing isnt that much of a issue and put the carb and distributor ect on to your motor till it dies then swap motors just my .02

ok what ill do then is swap carbs see if that solves a problem anybody got a carb that will fit this bitch without modification?

todd said he gave you one already so put it on and getter done

I think I have a feedback carb here, prob needs a rebuild thou been sitting for quite awhile, ill see if I can find it.

that would be great i need this thing running real soon im willing to pay anyone to fix it to grrrrrrrr
