Used to have one of those trucks and it was a good toy. Took 350000k of abuse and 4 rolls to break the frame. I think the engine may still be kicken around somewhere.

Big advantage of the diesel is that it has no ignition system. Especially after rolling in the ocean.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure most diesel vehicles would be able to survive that same abuse. Just because it has a Toyota symbol on the front doesn't make it magically better than everything else. The only thing that is marginally impressive was the the seawater bit - but again, just because it is made by toyota doesn't make it special, just shows you that it wasn't driven that much after the incident.
