Does anybody know if the third members are interchangeable between a
83 bj60 and a 75 fj40?
Any help?
Thanks

Only if they are the non-locking factory thirds

Take em out, if the splines are the same count, they will probibly work. I've been trying to figure out if the front thirds are the same as the full floater rears.

There are two kinds of landcruiser rear ends a semi floater and a full floater, guess you havent seen enough toyota axles. Come check out my junk some time and see the difference.

I'm not talking about the rear axles and housings, I'm wondering about the thirds. Do you have any open thirds that are 4.10's complete? I am needing to replace mine in the rear of my FJ40.

Why go with another open diff. I have a spare 4 10 third, if all goes well with welding the one I would consider selling the extra. I would also say that the fj60 third is mostlikely interchangebale with the fj40.

I need an open carrier so I can swap my locker into it. Are you welding up the rear of your 45?

Yes, I have a open carrier from my old front axle that I hope will fit in the FF rear axle.

Are you interested in selling it?
