when you hit a bump and your suspention compresses your steering (if on an angle) needs to get shorter and pushes your wheels from one side to the other

So your saying if I hit a bump and my Jeep pulls left or right, I have bump steer? If so is it something that needs to be taken care of? I don't think it's bad, if I have it, but I've got nothing to compare to.

Sorry for being a dumbass, but I want to make sure. :dontknow:

Not to Worry everyone started somewhere. Some trucks make full lane changes. Bigger tires can make the truck wander a bit more than stock too. Wider tires also tend to follow grooves in the road more. I used to have white knuckles every time i drove my sami.:D

Full lane change huh? Well I'm not even close to that, so I guess I got nothing to worry about.

I was aware of the wander because of the tires...wasn't concerned there.

Thanks van man.

bump steer is not normal if steering geometry is set up right.

I was doing some work on the Jeep today, and noticed uneven wear on my drivers side front tire. Seems my toe is out. Hopefully that's my problem.

Check wheel bearings and ball joints as well but toe in out of adjustment will cause the quickest wear on the tires
