Ok, been doing some chevy implants to my scout.
I need the front shaft done now. I have a chevy dana 44 front axle. The stock chevy 3/4 shaft is too short. I need a longer one......did chevy change there front shafts in the blazer,or jimmy? Mine is from a pick up.I need mine to be about 34"Center of u joint to transfter case flange.Might have to get the stock one made longer.Anybody?????

only thing that would really change the length of the front shaft in a factory application would be the length of the engine+tranny. so looks like it's off the the welder unless you can find one from a different manufacturer.

chev made two different length front d shafts back then.... 1 was the one that came off trucks with 205 t-case's 32" i think, and one that came off the 208 trucks 34" i think, ask a wrecker and they should have samples of both. what kind of t-case you r runnin should dictate the shaft.

Weren't they also different depending on tranny? t400 being longer than t350? can't remember where stic fits in and it's too cold to go out and look right now.

i am running a 208 for now. With a 4 speed manual.
I have a 205 also. It wont go in until the 208 blows up.
I will phone a wrecker but it looks like it might have to be made.

Do a square shaft man - any length you want with any yokes you want, and it'll never break.
