WHat transfer case is usually on the 22re`s in the 1993 vintage and what would a working used one be worth?

Is it the w 56 case?

are you talking t-case or tranny?

w56 is a tranny...

all 4cyl toys from '79-95 had a gear driven case, some where top shift, others forward shift, some had quiet run gears, others had the old style. All are equally as strong.

Even if it was a w56 tranny, there were 4 different version of it, some with forward some top shift t-case

Some good tranny info at marlins website: http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/transmission/transmission.htm
lists which trannies came in what years so you can tell from the pics if it was a top or forward shift.

Not "ALL" 4cyl had gear driven tcases. The odd one had a chain driven case. The 4Runner I know of was a 92'. But these arent all that common. And yes like Liz said, it has a "slightly" lower ratio. If memory serves they are found behind G58 transmissions only.

As stated, some were W56 and some a G58 transmission. If you need a case, I have a mint G58 with the VF1A (chain drive) t-case for sale out of a 93 toy. its clean, low km, and if you want to see it running its in one of my trucks that you could drive, I could pull it out in 45 min if ya wanted it. but im in Coquitlam.
