i have a 88 toy 4runner with a 3.0L ( it threw a rod through the block ) and i dont know what to put in im thinking a 22re for better gas mileage would a toy 3.0L v6 5 speed bolt up to a 22re?

what would u do ?

probably need 4 cyl trans but will need harness for sure, not sure if its true but i heard v6 frames are different where the motor mounts go. also could do supra 3l 7mge or newer 3.4l v6

A friend of mine in maple ridge put a supra motor in his toyota pickup and it runs great.[36]

3.4L out of a tacoma or newer 4runner is a direct bolt in for the 3.0L. Basically all you need to do is exhaust (since the 3.4 runs down the passeneger side of truck) and wiring. Way better motor and factory option TRD supercharger[36]

not worth the effort to put a 22re in. wiring is different, motor mounts are different, and i dont think the tranny's are interchangeable.

go with the 3.4

3.4s have plenty of power, they seem to show up v8's in lots of situations

why the hell would you want to do that?

then you need another adapter so you can run the better 4cyl gear driven t-case and/or run dual t-cases

Hard to say, ive never liked the 4 cyl. tranny's. Im on #2 and could go for #3 if i really want to.
