hey im new to 4x4in and i dont have a truck yet but im lookin at a 77 f-250 highboy i wanna put a 10" lift on it but i have heard if u put a lift on any vehicle u put a lot of stress on the steering componets especially with a body lift i was wondering if people could clear this up

I would say its more a factor of the larger tires that come along with a lift. more contact patch takes more energy to turn them, which means more resistance and greater load on everything from the pump out to the knuckles and balljoints. Body lifts end up pulling your steering column away from the steering box and can create a situation where you need to extend the shaft to join the 2 again...best stick with 1-2" body lift only.

the bigger the lift, the bigger the tire and the more power = more fun more troubles but why do we build these rigs?:lovesick:
