is it frozen? And yes it does happen[cheers]
you have to take it a part to see, first 6 torx and then the 6 12mm bolt. it might be only dirt, or your spring is defected or it came of the knob.....

you try putting plyers on it and turning it?
If it is still stiff, then pull it apart, put all the parts in gas, clean it all up, re grease it all and put it back to gether, if you are going to run alot of deep water just pack them with grease and it will help keep the water from the wheelberings.

Its aluminium inner and outer, and its common for them to sieze together.

can i break it if i try and force it to unlock?? or should i just leave it locked untill i have time to work on it?
yo buddy you are really lazy just take it a part. dont force it much.
by the way, after you clean it up just put some grease, NEVER pack it with grease cuz your spindel is turning there always and it eventually thicken your grease and it will lock again......
I fixed one of them today,
the gear in the hub was rusted right to the hub and spindel, took my sometime to clean all the rust.
