why go 205 the 1356 will last just as long and is way better geared...


it will be a direct bolt in different overall lenghts though

yep it will fit.
I put one in a '79 that had a 429, ZF, NP205. In your truck you will prob have to modify the x-member & shafts. You will also have troubles with the drive shafts u-joints. You will either have to run combo joints or change the ends on your shafts. 205's usually had small u-joints.

not to mention they dont clock up nice either......not as bad a s the chev 205 but still lower than the borg......

No, your 205 won't fit. Give me the ZF.

I'm kidding, it'll all match up. I believe you have to do a little trimming on the ZF to make the shift links on the 205 fit though.

don' t ever call a 208 strong i broke mine in half, go with the 205 it will serve you well and it has a side mount to the frame to take up the torque

u are correct on the extension housing.... the left side shift rail will need clearance this is what i have read
