anyone run 2.5" exhaust and a header on their 22re? is there really a loss of bottom end due to no back pressure? i have a flowmaster 50 series muffler and some pipe i was thinking of bending up..

stock manifold with 2 1/4" pipe and a 50 series flowmaster. Nice sound, decent power

22re's don't usually rev over 6000 rpm so an exhaust bigger than 2 1/4" is useles you can get into the 8000+ rpm on a regular baisis.I run a doug thorly header and 2 1/4" pipe and borla muf,& high flow cat. sounds good, good power, but might change from my torquey cam back to a cam with a brodder power band just to get more rpm range.

i used a 2.5 with a regular turbo muffler on a 22R and worked great. could still smoke up 33"s with a locker.

header , 2 1/4 , flowmaster 40 .. not a power house but still spins 37 's with a locker no problem but i dont like the sound of the exhaust at all.. do u guys find that those glass pack cherry bomb things sound good on 22rs kind thinking about switchin over to one for a change

i ran a headman header 2 1/4 with a high flow cat & 50series fm on an 22r. it still performed pretty good. i don't think there was much torque lost with less back pressure.

I liked it but noone else seemed to. But its cheap, wont rust through and cant catch on rocks.

I started with 2 1/4 but I choked it down to 2" and I definately noticed a difference in the low end i would say 2 1/4 with stock manifold 2" with a header
