Ok, this is really wierd...Got a miller 251, I would still call it new. I've welded my little heart out on my buggy, no problems, tonight i welded up my last two beadlock rings.....went to do some welding on my front diff and when i put the ground on the truck....the gas solenoid starts turning on and off erratically.....so i take it off, touch the wire from the gun anywhere on the truck....does the same thing. I tried every other piece of metal in the shop, and it didnt do it.

It gave me an error code meaning there was a short somewhere. But why only on my truck? the negative on the battery is disconnected, and ive welded on it tons already. Its fukin fuked. There are no wires, cords anything electrical going to my truck.

well there must be somesort of electrical or even radio interference:confused: ...disconnect both cables on your battery, maybe its still letting a current out somewhere..sounds weird tho

sounds like you need to talk to the miller people.

You should ALWAYS disconnect your battery before any type of welding that uses electricity.

Is the buggy itself grounding out on something, or did you put something up against it or on it that could cause this problem.
Just a thought.

That's wierd that it only did it on the buggy but I have a 251 as well and I had to have the gas solenoid in the welder replaced because of a similar problem mine half the time would not shut off the gas I would have to shut off the machine and unplug it to get it to stop, mine was under warranty so it cost me nothin.
