So me and a friend are going fishing, and were going down a washed out deactivated gravel sideroad and we come to a big, ugly, fresh washout. He decides to creep up to it and see what happens[27] The front end sinks, and the more he tries to get out, the more he ends up down the bank, and in a worse situation. He had a comealong with him so we pieced together as much shit as we could to use as a strap. 2 pieces of chain, 2 sections of thin nylon rope, a tie down strap, and some kind of marine line. We hook it up to a few different places, but nothing worked, the ropes kept breaking. We had to find something long enough to eliminate the shit rope. I suggested using a tree and cutting notches in it for the chain to sit in. I was called crazy but we were out of options. Using a knife[stoned] My friend cut down a tree. We used a fifteen foot section of tree between the 2 chains to give us enough length to get rid of the rope. So we started pulling and using the little factory jack to move the truck very slowly into a better position. We got to a good place and the come along broke[16] Lots of digging (with a crowbar), jacking, and tire spinning followed. We managed to get the truck forward a few feet on to harder ground and filled the holes full of rocks and sticks. Then some foot to the floor rat bagging, and the truck bounced out and caught air at the top of the bank. 5 hours later we headed home with out any fishing:cool: The tree saved our asses from hiking back to the pavement[freak]

thats some good thinking dumbass

11-17-2006, 08:33 PM
Good thinking! Never in a million years would I have thought of that! Good to see it worked!

But, why didn't you just pin it forward across the creek, then turn around, or pin it backwards? Or were you stuck going downhill? [f] [27]

Yea stuck going downhill, kinda hard to tell but if the truck went more than 4 feet forwards i woulda just hit the trees in front of it.

Ya we always seem to end up in some kind of a situation, I think we've had 3 or 4 trips and about 1 hour of total fishing time[15]
My truck would have probably got through, but it costs so much to drive[16]

We were going into the chehalis canyon. We just took the tail gate off,,,,actually I dont know why we took the tail gate off:confused: But it wasn't broken. 2 trucks are good but 1 truck is cheaper[31]
