Weather changes daily, Nov 11th turned out to be a great day weather wise. Three for the run: Taz and T_girl; Biggest Al and Allenwench; Stillrye and Britney we head up to Hayman on the Westside. We hit snow fairly soon, and the winter wonderland is everywhere
34161

Up at the lookout, the view of Kelowna and a short stop.
34162

34163

We are met with the first obstacle of the day and we need a by-pass for the trail. Stillrye heads around, followed by Al and Taz
34164

34165

34166

Reaching Hayman, there is a thin skim of ice on the lake. June alerts us all to the time and a quiet moment is taken here for the men who served our country during the War. Who wants to go for a dip? Surprisingly - no one volunteers. (we did try to get Brit, but it was a no-go)
34167

Lots of snow on the other side of Hayman, and it gets deeper as we head along.
34168

34169

We find another log blocking our path. With the chainsaw in chainsaw heaven, Al brings out the bucksaw. Heck-NO!! Not wasting that much time and effort...we attempt to go over the logs.
34170

34171

Taz makes the first success, quickly followed by Al and Stillrye
34172

34173

34174

34175

34176

The creek log crossing looked a little slimy, but Al goes across anyways, and needs to winch up.
34177

34178

Al finds himself in a predicament (and off the trail). Didn't get to witness June evacuating the jeep, but were told it was in one heck of a hurry![15]
34179

Winching back to safety
34180

Stillrye spots a trail of black coming out of Al's Jeep, and we find a little carnage. Motor mounts gave way, and the oil filter gets smashed against the engine.
34181

Stillrye saves the day and tows Al to civilization
34182

34183

34184

All in all, one superb day![cheers]

Nice pics man, Ive been to that lookout a few times, but never really been anywhere else up there, usually the biggest truck so no one can tow me if I get stuck.

Hayman Lake is up Bartley Rd. It is a sweet area to play around on. The trail can take you over to Bear Creek main-if you know the area like Taz.
We actually punched through the original trail for the last couple of hundred feet years back, but now with all the logging you'd hardly recognize the place.[cheers]

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy telling stories.

You have that right on the chainsaw, our Poulin bit the dust during a camping trip last year. Been trying to look up a STIHL (?spelling) but the Mower Mart in Kelowna is never open when I pass by. Any suggestions - only want a small one-has to fit in the Zuke ya know[15]
Taz: you never read this post so get off!
He always guesses his presents so this will throw him off track for sure[22]
