those are great deals especially the 12000 for $900. what I was looking for was more like one of their professional industrial recovery winches. I do already have a warn 12000 electric and a Ramsey 12000 hydraulic on the truck but after the jeep recovery last weekend realized that more was required. the winches both worked great but they were almost at their full capacity. you'll be surprised how heavy a jeep gets straight up and down against a dirt bank and that was only a jeep[27] . if there was a bigger truck or a mog the it would not have been doable.

the models that I was interested in was the H14W or even the HP20 to put in the frame rails in the back. they don't look cheap but should be gooder. check out the specs below.

i was looking for more of an industriall type winch. price is not the important factor here.

called up north shore off road. the H14W sells for $2450 and 3 weeks away.

does anyone know of any other band of industrila type wich in that price range?

heard of people using everything from fishing boat reel winches to PTO's off old cable operated diggers from the 50's. The HUGE blue chevy 3+3 that was in TTC this year has 30 ton winches.... not sure what he used.
