im wondering if i have to weld my muffler in place or can i use the clamps??? its a flowmaster 40 2" in and 2" out, thanks[cheers]

You can just use clamps but the exhaust tends to roll and move over time so it is advisable to at least put a couple of good tack welds as well as the clamps to hold it in place

ah cool i can do the tacks after then, mines leakin right at the start of the catory muffler so im going to chop it back to good pipe then go from there, thanks nutbar

i dunno havent done it yet haha, i should actually measure the pipe to make sure its 2", if and when do a 22re swap ill change the exhaust size, not too worried right now though, gotta get'er running right first

i bet ya its 2 1/4 because when i went to lordco to get a muffler smallest size was 2 1/4 or thats what they told me

bahh fuck the muffler bearing i have to get new bearing hinges

toy- you can get a 2" in and 2" out so someone was fuckin with ya

Make sure to swap out the bindle rotor at the same time you do the muffler bearing. Don't forget to replace the brass magnets too.

i`m running the same setup,aster 40 and 2.25" pipe. sounds great., flows excellent. bought muffler at lordco and had midas install it all. $150 and not a problem since.

1 tuff muffler!!!

ok this may sound stupid but when i measure for the size of exhuast i can use a piece of string or measuring tape whatever and measure the size, or should i measure from inside. cause i went out and emasured again and it looked like 1 and 3/4" then it was like 1.5" then 2", so im thinkin maybe its 2" from the header to a smaller piece to the muffler cause that looms used, then its welded to a new piece of pipe to a half U bend which is only 1 3/4"

god damn i gotta cut then cause i got three different sizes on there haha

how off would i be if i just used the piece of string wrapped around then measure the length of the string
