When I put the 302 in my Bronco, I needed to get a new flywheel because I went from E4OD to T18.

When I put it on, I torqued the flywheel bolts to factory specs and applied liberal doses of threadlocker, but I am worried that those bolts might come off.

Anyone know if I should pull the transmission out to tighten those bolts again? Or will it be fine? [1d]

If you torqued them and loc-tite they should be okay....but sometime....for piece of mind, the extra work is worth it. [cheers]

there is no reason to locktite them if they are torqued

I use loktite on bolts that I can't get to on a regular basis to tighten. call it Obsessive Tightening syndrome.

so anyway, it should be fine then?

They should be fine...ANd lock tight on them is a great idea.....
Lots of vibrating going on down there and lots of heat soak...
Prolly why they come that way from the factory????[f]

what color of lok-tite did you use if you used the blue stuff youll be okay, but if you used the evil green shit your fucked, heat is gonna be needed or a very large breaker bar. the green stuff is intended for capscrews that are never gonna come out again.

no, the tranny wasn't shot. Its still sitting in my F150 in my back yard until I decide to scrap it.

and I can't see the flywheel bolts that connect it to the crankshaft from outside, the clutch is in the way

Its a good idea that u put locktite on the flywheel bolts as 302 cranks are drilled right through and will seep oil through if u dont use a thread locker and or sealant. I think u will be fine.
