try fuel filter and plug wires pull one plug wire while running (with insulated pliers) and see if the engine changes and keep trying till you determine which one is dead you just might need new wires [cheers]

i know its my 3rd cyl thats not firing, i havn't checked my fuel filter but i dont see how it would stop 1 cylinder from running

is there no spark at that cylinder? check compression or maybe you have a clogged injector.....

do all spark plugs and see if fuel pump is priming properly could also have a vacumm problem or inproper flow of air somewhere

check it for spark, then check the injector

theres spark to all cylinders, vacum hoses are all connected, would an ohmeter tell me if if injector was cloged or not fuctioning properly, also would a blown head gasket cause an engine to run on 3 cyls?

A blown head gasket would definately effect compression in one or more cylinders do a compression test first and if they are all good then you will know you have a fuel problem

A compression check will definitly help narrow shit down. Also what did the spark plug in that cyl look like. ie wet, carboned up,etc. is it smoking at all and if so what color?

yes but he took the valvecover off and said eveything looked fine, if it was a headgasket the oil would be all white, from the water in the oil

only if it was leaking into the oil passage. if it's blown to the cylinder it will just burn it
