View Full Version : Hunting near Quesnel

Went hunting up by Quesnel for 5 days. Spent some good days on the lake fishing and canoeing up a creek. Didn't see any moose. There were alot of hunters in the area so it was tough to get a hunting spot without any traffic. Tonnes of grouse on the road though so unfortunately, that's all we got. Saw some beavers and coyotes, but that's it. anyways, here's some of the pics I took.

[15] [15] [15] But true! Vintage rides, looking in nice shape though!

Awesome pics! Water was like glass!

Thanks guys! yea, those rides were pretty sweet. they got you where you wanted to go though. The water was so smooth, you could notice every little thing floating on the water and could see the schools of fish through the water.

[36] Just got my son a 78 XR80 and he's lov'n it,those things just last and last,I thought it was a better buy than a brand new chinese bike.

Pretty sweet pics of the lake[cheers]

LOL, yea, they're all pretty cool bikes. Not mine though and I doubt the owner's gonna sell them. I was suprised how well the lake shots turned out. I already miss that place.

10-18-2006, 10:13 AM
Nice! The bikes remind me of my old HD 125cc with oil injection( junk!) and the 79 Zuk 250cc trials bike I rode as a kid in Maple Ridge!! Did you guys cook the Grouse up on the fire? Any fish?[cheers]

10-18-2006, 10:32 AM
No, we cooked the grouse over the BBQ with plum sauce on it. No fish though. All my buddy bought was powerbait to fish with. LOL he swears by that stuff!! next time I'm bringing the bait

sweet one of those bikes looks like my old one sweet pics man

10-18-2006, 05:05 PM
looks like a nice lake for fishing

10-18-2006, 06:14 PM
Factor, you didn't factor in the fact that maybe all the fish were not hungry. Isn't factor a math equation? Or a beer equation? Never had grouse with plum sauce before; sounds good!

nice [cheers] ............

It's at stony lake. Just past Dunkley, down the 700 road

10-26-2006, 01:38 PM
oh yeah...Hows Ahbu lake, did you stop by that one? its on the way to Stony lk about half way from Dunkley. That lake doesnt look as big as it would be judging by the map. Theres a lake called "Big lake" you turn off the highway at McLeese lake

10-27-2006, 08:56 AM
No, I didn't stop there. We drove to stony lake at night. Got lost the first night because we missed a turn and slept in the truck, lol that's another story. We just hunted around the area south and east of stony lake. Stony lake was so freaking awesome so we didn't have a reason to go to another lake.

going to have to get out there next summer then. Is it any good for swimming?

10-27-2006, 02:40 PM
LOL, not really. It was pretty damn cold when I was there. It may get warmer in the summer, but definitely not in October
