Is there a reason you're looking for a 4cyl auto Cherokee? Most people don't see them as desirable.

Only thing they're good for are the axles....I'm told they had FACTORY 4.56's cause of the auto. Dunno how true that is though...

90% of the 4 cyl Jeeps 87 and up are 4.10s. Jeeps from 76 and newer didn't get anything more than 4.10s from the factory.

Ah... Not quite. There is a mysterious package where the 2.5L was mated to the AW4. It came with 4.56 gears. I'd not believe it, but I know somebody that 'bought' one for that reason. Can't remember what years (I believe it would have been 87-89) or exactly what the package is called...

Because I assumed nobody would believe me, I went and found one of the threads about it.

Yes, they offer a bellhousing for the AW4 to mate it to a 2.5L. And Jeep did it from the factory. I guess they used 4.56 gears with this package as the frist gear was not as low in the AW4 as it was in the TF907 or whatever-the-fawk came with 2.5L's.

There's a couple other cases of people I know running into them.

Yea I doubt that. Maybe 3.73's or somethin along those lines.

The 2.8 ain't a camaro engine. The 3.4 is.

The 2.8 is an unreliable peice of shit that chevy sold AMC. It's apparently slightly different from the 2.8s that chevy used in their own vehicles, and NOT for the better.

The 2.8 came with 4.10s with the auto tranny.
