I have to say that this was on beautiful run. Haven't really been out a lot and Taz had wanted to do this run for a while, so it was off our butts and on to some fun in the Okanagan!

First stop of the day was the Graystokes Chalet. Nice warm fire and party remnants. We used this chalet a lot in our snowmobiling days!
31044

The old sheep farm close by the chalet. Boy, those sheep must have been scared in them days at this remote location[15]
31045

Taz and Al playing on a couple small hills
31046

31047

Gotta admit, if it can't be June at least Al has a cute passenger
31048

Dr B tries the hill
31049

Always the poser Al
31050

These shots are at Loch Long. Wicked for ice racing in winter on sleds
31051

31052

31053

Dr B getting too close to the soft stuff and Taz winches for the first time that day
31054

On the way to Fish Hawke, we come across two hunters on foot. Miles and Colby inform us that their quad had gotten stuck, so it's time for a rescue:D
Reaching Fish Hawke, we cross over the damm
31055

This creek flows into Mission Creek and makes it's way into Lake Okanagan
31056

Miles and the stuck beast
31057

31058

Taz getting to his second winch of the day, we all gather to pull the ATV from the deep mud
31059

31060

31061

31062

With the front wheels pointing in two different directions, we knew we had some off road repairs to do so the boys can make it back to the Chalet. A bent tie-rod is the culprit for the directional tires
31063

Colby begins to straighten it out with a hammer, but we soon knew it would take a little more than that hammer
31064

So Taz brings out the big persuasion (big honking axe) and with everyone having a go at it, we quickly straightened the tie rod enough and Miles and Colby were on their way
31065

The trail gets interesting after Fish Hawke
31066

Seems more like an old river bed at times
31067

Frequent snow traces gets you in gear for winter
31068

Travelling through several meadows still warm from the afternoon sun
31069

31070

Passing an old hunters cabin
31071

and down to another meadow. This one connects to the trail over to Grizzly Swamp and then it's time to head er home via Two Fly and Beaver Lake Road

It was a great way to spend the Thanksgiving Day, and still time to cook up some Cornish Hens with all the fixings.[cheers]

Looks like a nice trip! And you should tell those Kawi guys there is a recall on the tie rods if they haven't already got it done. A buddy's 750 broke a tie rod end this summer, got covered under the recall.

According to the new GPS recently purchased from Kev (gotta love it by the way-although it seems to always want to create a route to the the Harrison area for some reason)
from Fish Hawke to the cabin is 5.83km (that is if I got the waypoint entered correctly);)
