Some history here

Pic #5
Trappers cabin. I have a pic of my mom on top of the roof peek
(only about 6" of peak showing) on her 1969 Chapperal snowmobile,
I think in '73.

My mom's uncle hearded sheep up there in the late '40s & shot a Griz there once.

Parents helped build the Chalet in I think '69. As a kid spent many weekends up there. Snow used to come up over the front deck. Can remember guys parking their sleds level with front porch.

I'll find pics, scan & post here. Great area, too bad for all the road restrictions now.
I have pics of my GPW muddin through the meadows back in the '70s.

Awesome pics. We nearly made it to the top of mount moore today, but some quaders said it was rough going near the top, so we turned around. Is that lookout still up there?

Nope, Forest service burned it down along time ago because they didn't use it anymore. I have pics of the one on Goat Mnt in Beaverdell also. I think it's gone now too. Pics of my GPW on the road down below, taken from the tower.

I also have pics of the Highland-Bell mine buildings in Beaverdell (Goat Mnt)before the mining company tore them down. My dads , friends grandpa started them in the 1800's.
