[stupid] hood is still straight.

I've tried, but I just can't seem to dent it. Although the fenders took some pretty good hits and pressed into the hood a bit. just rubbed some paint off it though...

not for no way out. there's no where to winch to unless you want to climb 100ft+ up the steep banks to find a tree

Or you could just send up a toyota in front of you to use as an anchor point[22]

HEAVY METAL
10-10-2006, 04:17 PM

sure, but I'll need a tow to the trail.

I think you've got a pretty good chance of driving it on your own. locked F&R with 105"+ wheelbase and decent tires are all you really need. (I think your old TSLs would work better than boggers for this trail though)

there's really no point in winching because the obstacles keep getting harder & harder until you have to turn around and come back down. So if you can't make it up one, then there not much point in continuing on. A couple fat guys on the strap would probably be enough if you did need a bit of help in some spots.

HEAVY METAL
10-10-2006, 04:31 PM
why you think the tsl would work better ( lookin into the combo)

Big_Ern
10-10-2006, 04:41 PM
this trail is solid rock. TSL has more surface area & biting edges than a bogger to get traction.

The only guys in the comp that ran boggers were mikey & walt. Walt was too pussy to run it[22] and mikey tried but just didn't have the traction. Altho his short wheelbase had a lot to do with it too.

certain trails are better with boggers, and some are better with swampers.

StinkFinger
10-10-2006, 04:42 PM
BECAUSE OF THE TRACTION OF THE ROCK A BFG OR A MTR WORKS REALY GOOD I THINK THE BOGGERS WOULD BE FINE THO THIS TRAIL IS WHEEL BASE AND BALLS

StinkFinger
10-10-2006, 04:44 PM
i think the combo swamper bogger setup would be mint

ya, thats a big part of it. Dean, you might want a better cage before trying this. or at least pratice ducking to get your head below the rollbar[c]

UU

Wheel base, that's why I didn't do it and why Mike opted out after section 1. Going down will guarantee a roll over, no question, something I'm not willing to do, it just happens.

Now maybe if I lighten my jeep and through on my BFG's with a few people on a strap.

wheelbase was definatly a big factor in no way out.

how far did you go up the trail?? did anyone go past " dump bump " ? and how did the buggy end up doing a front wheely , I don't remember it being that steep for his wheelbase

We went all the way up from what i remember hiking it. I did an endo from listening to two spotters then driver error clutch/panic which gave me some speed. It was great!

farther than you[f]

Like poopy said, We went up to the end and turned around not too far past the last climb that stopped you. Gotta get out there and try it again. Most of us that made it up took a line further to the left than we tried that day with you. Tires might have made a difference too..?

mikey got denied on the waterfall with the big log in it where rich broke.

walt was too much of a pussy to even attempt it[22]

sean in the black CJ didn't even show up

amiel (sp?) in the white CJ had his wb was stretched quite a bit so he did alright. made it up to the last part were you stopped and then the broke 2 hubs and ran outta spares

everyone else drove it all including the shorter toys around 105-106" wb
