its about to strand me again. It stalled comming down the road then started back up in the driveway. So I shall be sitting on the side of the road somewhere tomorrow. [j]

I have changed the coil and the distributer cap
Its been on a scope, fuel presser tested and spark tested and no issues found. Any other ideas??

water in the fuel system could cause all kinds of problems. try some fuel treatment with water remover.

could be a filter issue as well

do Jeeps have a pick up coil and a ignitionn module like the Chevy's?? The Chevota had that problem MANY times, leave me stranded for a couple hours and then fire back up.

Check for spark next time it stalls. At least you'll know where to look from there.

I have had to replace a stator and reluctor in the distributor in a few Jeeps now ,when it dies will it fire up right up or does it take a few mins (like something to cool) then fire up drive ofr a few mins then die again??
Just a thought.

We've got a heep at work doin the same thing. Traced it down to the third bad new coil. Replacement parts now days are crapp. Just cause it has a new coil, doesn't mean its good.

could be the coil my truck did the same thing . if you replace the coil go with a full voltage non ballast coil like one of the Accel 8140's or something else that is performance aftermarket, they actually tend to be cheaper then alot of the factory coils.

lol thread revival!.. actually same sorta thing has been happening to my cherokee. seems after it gets nice and warm, it dies while driving at the most random time, done it 2 times now. replaced, cap, rotor, plugs wires. using accell coil.. after jeep cools down starts up again.. told it could be that a pickup in the distributer gets hot and causes motor to not get spark.. i dunno.. seems to be fine for now..
