Every second time I go out I rip the drivers side engine mount and then 3 or 4 good shots goin up a hill like creekside or parts of 6 feet and the tranny mount rips apart as well.[27]

Suggestions.....................

I know, I know.......get rid of the rubber and just bolt things in

Just wonderin what other ideas there are out there

thanx [cheers]

All that gearing and traction and your right foot....
maybe limiting chains on your Block so u got very little movement then the tranny mount replace with a aftermarket one....

Jeez......... it's not a big nasty engine........ just a stock 300 six :D

I guess I'll try chaining the engine down........ I don't think I will rip out the tranny mount if the engine stops trying to flop on it's side

can you drill out the rubber mount and put a bolt thru the middle? This way you still have the rubber bushing to keep vibrations down, but the bolt will stop the rubber from separating. I did this to my motor mounts in the toy and it works great.

Here's a link how I did mine: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154338
Haven't seen a ford mount, so I'm not sure if this is possible...??

Acts similar to chaining the mount, just a little better way to do it IMO.

Buddy of mine has an 89 F-250 4x4 with a 300 I-6. He kept destroying mounts too. He said F-it and put in a 302 5spd :p
