this guy in my class has a 2.4L diesel N/A motor, will it bolt up to my g52 tranny, and how hard is it to throw a turbo on it?
I think a 2.4L diesel turbo'd motor in a toy would be so sweet!!!!

kelowna eh? me guessin it's the white flat deck? fuck is that thing in rough shape, leaks a lot of oil from what I've seen adn the frame is rotten to hell. If you can get it for a decent price it'd becool, but it'll most likely need a rebuild. From what I hear that ain't cheap either.

From my limited understanding I know that the 2.2 Diesel was available from 1981-86, are you sure it isn't a 2.2? The 2.4 diesel is a turbocharged version already, so if it's a 2.4 what happened to the turbo? Is it out of a 4Runner? I don't think the older pickups were ever offered with a 2.4

Well, I just did some more research and the 2.4 turbo was offered first in 1984, but there isn't any info on a non Turbo'ed 2.4 out there. As far as the adding a turbo, you'd have to make sure that Toyota put in a crank and pistons that could withstand the extra PSI that the turbo would put on the already high compression Diesel, if everything turned out to be all good then go for it!

I know you can get a 2.4L diesel in a 84 Toyota as I had one. Solid engine, I don't believe the turbo is cheap to add on but in my opinion it was a great engine. Lots of torque and great on gas. OH gumboot, I belive thats my white flatdeck your speaking of, truck was wicked until I rolled it 4 times.

more torque then 22, better mileage, there no power horse.but neithers the 22....
you also need the bellhousing ,maybe gas(diesel) tank and filter of course.
turboing it probley wouldnt be cost worthy.
