power wise it wont matter but your gearing will. are you getting the 3.7 or 4.1?

I have driven a brand new ford and chevy diesel and they have tons of of power. I dont think you will have any worries specially with the mods ur doing.

My buddy has a newer duramax with 35's and it will roast the tires off with a rolling start.

Thats going to be a sick truck......dually or single?

my buddy has an '05 cummins lifted 6'' on 37'' x-terrains with the auto, stock engine that thing pulled hard with the lift, with his MBRP exhaust, banks 6-gun programmer, turbo mods, this that and the other thing, will spin em easily . Not sure on what gearing( im assuming the tow pkg. will have a diff gear ratio) but that thing goes good. Only downside is getting anything into the bed, its at about chest height. Hard to get heavy stuff in.

I have a 94 Dodge with a Cummins and i bought it with 33's on it and the only thing that I notice is between 3rd and 4th is a bi of a stretch it your not at high RPM I was thinking of liftinf mine and running a 40" tire but I think I would have to re gear for the higher gears the lower ones are not a problem at all.

lift it and throw on the tires right away and you won't notice any power loss

they cummins wont be slow. It wont have the same 0-60, but it will still pull really hard off the line. The manual helps a fair bit cause the 1st on a g56 is 6.29 whereas the slushbox is probley somewheres in the high 2's to mid 3's.(assuming). I would wonder a lot about the clutch too, if you're gonna bomb the engine, slap on 37's and go towing, im fairly sure they clutch will demise pretty fast. I have heard nothing but excellent stuff about South Bend CLutches ( [url]http://www.southbendclutch.com/dodge_catalog.html/url] ). If you real worried, call PDR up. I'm sure they will say it'll be slower cause they have 600+ HP rockets, but they will sure point you in the right direction, and am sure have worked on lifted cummins'.

Heres the gears on the g56:
6.29:1 first gear ratio, 3.48:1 second gear ratio, 2.1:1 third gear ratio, 1.38:1 fourth gear ratio, 1:1 fifth gear ratio, 0.79:1 sixth gear ratio and 5.74:1 reverse gear ratio

You wont have to change gearing except to fine tune if at all, once you put all your power mods on.

do you have a pyro and boost yet? probably more important than your clutch life at the moment.

Not true, just take the chip out before you take it in for servicing. Got a buddy that's blown two engines, ford's rebuilt them both times, and he has a chip, methanol, 7 inch lift, 37's....list goes on.

got a friend with an 04 2500 9 inch lift and 37's with the 6 speed and his 4.1 gears he has no power problems, no performance upgrades except exaust. go with the 37's.
