yah so ive come to the point where ive been pondering of welding my rearend.
i do understand my rear tires will where out quicker but i got my tires for cheap so i dont care!

on the other hand what kinda lockers can i get for 3-500$ for a chevy s10blazer? if i can pick up a decent locker maybe i go for that route.

what are you thoughts on welded rearends?

you may want to talk to ian at iwe rearends in burnaby , he helped me out with my 80 chev, they usually have some used lockers/limited slips in stock ,might be worth a call

Welded rears aren't usually the way to go for me. Now that you can buy an Aussie locker for about 300 bucks why would you wanna nuke your diff? Welded rears are hard on everything , not just tires. Things are more prone to break, bend and generally fuck up. Welding is fine for dragracers (aka going in a straight line) or if you are just running dunes, it's just not for road use, or even 4x4ing for that matter. Spooling your rearend also causes some weird drivability quirks, it will slide around in mud, snow,..ect. If you weld it, you are going to shorten the life of your rear end. There will be a ton of people who disagree but the facts are out there and with soft lockers so cheap it's just as easy to install one.
