I looked at a 93 Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 today, The owner was asking 2900$ for it, it has 290,000 kms on it. The body was in really nice shape, the interior was ok, it had holes cut in all the doors for speakers that were removed, and no deck either. The other odd thing was the grey manual drivers seat when the rest of the interior was a tan color, otherwise, the interior was good. It had 17 inch wheels on it with 275/55 tires. He also had the original wheels with no tires. My question is if this sounds like a good price? It also passed aircare testing recently.

My mom was in the market for a new vehicle and I looked at several dozen grand cherokees... found a near mint condition 1995 laredo with a 4.0L with 256000km for 6000 taxed in
I saw several 1993s in rough shape for 4000
2900 i suppose is a good deal if the drivetrain checks out. I dont know much about the ZJ V8 but Ive heard they dont last anywhere near as long as the 4.0L..

Tell him to keep the 17" wheels and street tires....maybe you can get some money off if he keeps those?
not a bad deal. check the timing chain out though. they wear out and when they break it's no longer that great a deal. the t/case has a viscous coupling in it that is prone to wear out specially if it ever had odd size tires on it. easy check turn a slow tight corner you shoul not feel any binding.

I decided to buy an XJ, they're a little cheaper on gas than a V8 ZJ. I bought an 88 XJ limited last week.
