Started out in Fruitloops, went down though the Kootneys, then onward to southern Alberta, did some wheeling there, then up to Calgary. Caught up with Winch (Gary) is his red taco ever sick now!, then onward up though the Columbia Ice Fields, though PG, and then home.

No real carnage, just my two lower ball joints failed. They were only 1 month old and were Monroe's extreem duty ones. $150 each. Had to change them out with some $44 Napa cheepies at Winch's place Friday night. Oddly enough the cheapies look just like factory joints, and they are holding up way better than the expensive ones.

Anyhow, grab a pillow there are lotsa pix here.

Yes, it's a three link, but it's all homemade. It was good to go wheeling my my ol' buddy ToyotaHead there. We had a good day. There's some pretty good wheeling around here, but I still miss the Okanagan. Will try and plan 1 or 2 trips out there for next year.

whats left to do on the runner ?

LOL better put... what isnt left to do? It is pritty much exactly as you saw it 2 postil May Longs ago.

I was just outside today washing it off. (Love the rain!!!) and noticed that my rear driver side spring is totally crappin out. This might be the sign of the swap.

I still need to do the SAS, lift, driveline brake / xmember, build up some dear slayer bumpers, winches, ARB's... god the list goes on and on.

actually that is the Athabasca Glacier found on the columbia icefield hwy. Alberta....

But yes it is very impressive. If you havent ever driven the icefields highway, I would highly recommend it. Very impressive views!

Some really great pics there! Looks like an awesome trip!

Recognized a couple pics, a few others looked familiar too.

Is this highway 31, north from the Galena Bay ferry through Trout lake then down to Kaslo?

27984

This corner looks like many small highways in the West Kootenays. I'd guess either Kaslo to Balfour ferry. Also looks like Enterprise Creek corner from Slocan City to New Denver.

27985

Funny thing is this one is so close, but I've yet to take the family on it! [15] BC's (Canada's?) longest free ferry ride!

Pic#1 - Yes (Cant remember what the old lady's name was who lived at this house, but yes this is also the house seen on the cover page of the Kootney backroad mapbook)
Pic#2 - Yes just before the kootney lake ferry (North America's longest free ferry)

How long were you at Trout Lake? We were though there Friday Sept 1st. (Saw alot of quads at the south end of the lake as we continued on our way Saturday morning.) You mentioned in your thread about getting to the old ghost town at the north end of the lake, I found that kinda funny, as we had planned to try and get the trucks in to it as well. But after seeing the condition of the bridge I thought nah... not worth risking it.
