The pictures really donít show how steep it was. A lot of the trail was a side not a walk to get down and I have a bruised tailbone and cut up hand to proof it. [15]

This challenge definitely favors a longer wheelbase and kudos to Paul for getting as far as he did[36]

Nice run Paul!! Why you bash your head over big uns, aaron? That could possibly be the hardest trail in the MCC by the sounds of it. The LWB rigs should make it up NWO pretty easy, unless the day has a torential rainstorm. :D

Big Un's is fucking impossible. It would be stupid to include that in the cup. Now that we've had a bit of rain, all those rocks that had the dry green slime on them are super slippery, there's no traction at all. Would be an all day event just to get one truck through

It took me about an hour to go less than 50m into the trail and we had to stack a lot of rocks (even sasin helped[9]). Had to winch over the gate keeper, then just about rolled dropping into the creek. Only thing holding me up was bigB. Then I went up a few feet and tore the arp steering studs right out of my driverside knuckle -- pulled the threads right out of the cast knuckle and sheared one stud in half and fucked up my upper king pin (cage broke and the roller bearings all fell out). We (johnny5) were able to sorta jam a couple of the stud back in so it wouldn't fall off and then tmax winched me backwards from the bridge, and then towed me up and out the left side thru the bushes (thanks[cheers]). Was able to limp it back down to the trailer...

Fuckin right Paulie, you da man. I knew you were the right man for the job [36] [36] [36] [36] [36] [36] [36]

IMO, he did make it all the way. Until I see someone drive the Dump Bump, I'm saying it's winch only ([f]) and without another truck up there it was smarter to turn around there[cheers]

Awesome trail, just plain wicked [22]

Never thought I would need them... I just might depending on the cost, but I have a feeling they'll be expensive...

StinkFinger
09-11-2006, 11:27 AM
299 for the pair plus steering arms

Big_Ern
09-11-2006, 11:28 AM
ya and the 6 stud arms are $$$$$$$ too

StinkFinger
09-11-2006, 11:30 AM
sorry thats just the arms

Big_Ern
09-11-2006, 11:35 AM
ya, too much $$$

I had some nasty wobble on the driverside tire on the way to the trail from the flatspots & mud caught in the beadlock, which I think might have shook the studs loose. So I'll just have to get some new ones and keep an eye on them to make sure they stay tight -- hopefully won't happen again...

StinkFinger
09-11-2006, 11:40 AM
i would think the woble would of been from loose studs and thats why they broke

Big_Ern
09-11-2006, 11:46 AM
but it drove fine saturday night onto the trailer. where it sat overnight cinched down with only 2psi in the tires.

when it started to wobble I checked the steering right away and everything was tight. Then I scooped a pound or two of mud outta the beadlocks (still was a bunch in there) and it got a bit better and once I got to the trail it was barely wobbling at all.

StinkFinger
09-11-2006, 11:55 AM
steering arms wouldent be realy notice able unless you actualy check the bolts

Big_Ern
09-11-2006, 12:05 PM
hmmm maybe... I just find it odd that it never happened driving back the night before and all of a sudden had a brutal wobble as soon as I got it off the trailer.

also, the drive back down had no wobble and I didn't really even have an upper kingpin bearing[wako]

I dunno... whatever happened I'm gonna make sure to keep an eye on them better and make sure they're tight every trip...
