Planning a 302 swap in my YJ. Just wondering about aircare, does anyone know how that works? When they punch in my VIN it will come back a 2.5L.

if you have a friend who is autoplan agent, change it to a truck, then raise the GVW. you could also tell them that your truck is primarily driven in a territory Z area (sechelt, osoyoos, whistler, anywhere on vancouver island..etc..) then no aircare.. or studded winter tires on the rear will nota llow your truck to be on the rollers; but can't remeber what months the studded tires are allowed

depending on the aircare place just tell the person you did an engine swap and it is now the largest engine that came in that model jeep... unless of course the 2.5 was then yer screwed :) but they can change it to whatever engine you say or territoy Z works well but an accident will screw ya :)

also anyone know how well the GVW thing works as far as accidents go?

Don't tell them anything, and they won't know its not a 2.5. They are not that smart.

They don't really care what you have under the hood as long as you pass the sniffer test for the vehicle that comes up on the computer screen. When they used to open the hood, I had one guy check it out and thought it was pretty cool that there was a 350 under there. He changed it on the test report to read 5.7L under the engine section. The passing numbers were the same whether it was a 4.2L or a 5.7L.

it doesn,t matter what engine you use. tell them it,s a 302. the jeep will have to pass emissions for a 302 of the same year as you jeep.
