where to go to id a vin and get the list of what it came w from the factory ? ;)

ive been their before but can't find it anymore [27]

for mine i use all thje numbers on the isnide of my glove box and it gives me the printout of what i had

hey B what year truck are you trying to figure out. usually there i a sticker in the glove box that gives you the option codes. i've seen it on the 88 and up trucks but not sure if the older ones have it.

hey i got a chevy book. i'm pretty sure the manufacture palnt is in the vin. i'll check it out today and will let you know.

k it a91 1 ton 3x3 long box small block FI 205 truck and its a over diven 4 speed auto ... dare i belive thats it a 4l80e

from what I can tell the VIN on newer vehicles doesn't tell you the tranny info because VINs are now regulated to a certain format for all manufactures

Is there no model info on the tag under the hood or in the door jam?

or can you tell other ways?

ex: 350 + 4x4 + 1/2ton = xxxx tranny?

the info has gotta be out there. They probably didn't have that many tranny options from the factory. Try looking up old magazine articles & road tests etc[cheers]

i run vins all the time for gm units trucks cars vans etc and i just phone the dealer and they can tell u everything from the axle ratio to the coulor of the carpet..........have and problems send me vin and i will do it for u where i deal......[cheers]
