View Full Version : funinbc top truck show down nominees.

i just went throught the former topic and picked out all the people who were nominated/

the list is as follows:
sjx-500
u-can-2
dentedup
mudram
nutbar
t-max
jeepmog
warlord
bigblazer
murdoug
poopy
rio

the format is still TBA. weather it will be a single trail, multi day event, or multiple event contests. but i would like to hash out the details so we can actually do this and not just have another pissing contest.

i don't know the trails down there, so someone will have to make a choice, but i think the BIG boys would run first, since they would take less time, but cause more havoc on the courses by moving obstacles... any input?

also the "scoring" of an event i think woould be a given time frame to go as far as possible, and a "full pull" would be scored by the lowest time.

any further input would be appreaciated thanks.

i was thinkin more so for time constraints, run the biggest *less likely to have issues* first, so the smaller *more likely to break/get stuck* have the time needed to complete. i don't know of many courses that could fuck over most of the trucks but none the less... shit does happen.

i'd like to say run it all once after another, but shit, that'll take all day and then some... right?

Tmax
08-16-2006, 08:55 PM
there is no set rules yet but people are working on it. the more ideas, the better. could work on some kind of score points. i think by the end it will be more of socilizing event than a reall compeition.

Didnt even sound blown when you were running it, I guess when you idle over shit it doesnt have a chance to spool

It has a high pitch squeal when it idles cold just over 1000RPM. Once it warms up you can hardly hear it. I like the whoosh sound it makes when it surges on a gear change and the throttle plates are closed.

They came out with a new compressor that is apparently even quieter.

Planetary underdrive (2.73:1)???? is this a custom unit ? any more details?

It is pretty much identical to a Klune-V. I used the planetary gearset out of a NP-231 (S-10 version with 6 planet gears) and machined a housing out of 8 inch diameter 6061 aluminum. The sun gear is pressed into the front of the housing. The output shaft is cut down, resplined, and hardened to match the input gear of the Dana 300. The NP-231 shift collar is used and I had to fab a shift fork to shift it in and out. It is about 6.5 inches long. With a Dana 300 behind it, it is about 1 or 2 inches longer than a Jeep NP-231.

I've had it in for about 6 years now and it works great, no complaints. I carry a spare output shaft for it just in case.
