View Full Version : Miller welder problems

I have a Miller Thunderbolt constant current AC/DC arc welding power source that was given to me. I took it because you can still use the DC side for tig welding witch I have always wanted to try and it was free and came with everything. But the AC arc welding side doesn't work properly. If you use a small rod it works ok sometimes but if you use a larger rod it sticks to the work all the time and won't strike an arc. I opened the case and I found one of the little resistors or whatever they are had broken off. So I reconnected it but it didn't seem to make a difference. I have no experience working on welders so any advice would be great. Thanks guys
