StinkFinger

Murd0c
08-11-2006, 03:49 PM
should I just replace the tank?

what happens when I fill the tank it leaks all over the place until it goes down, drives me friken crazy.

also went through 40 litres on about 150 k last weekend, that that normal????? seems like atot for the 22r worse then my 3.0

B
08-11-2006, 03:50 PM
[stupid] er ... or just find a rubber plug ..... not rocket science ...... p.s. find some way to strap a jerry can on to that thing as well seeing as the gas gauge dosen.t work ....

StinkFinger
08-11-2006, 03:50 PM
tap it out and thred a fitting in to it

Tmax
08-11-2006, 03:51 PM
now i know why your truck ran like crap. you probably had the tank half full of water.

Murd0c
08-11-2006, 03:54 PM
ya thats what I'm thinking, hopefully it didn't fuck my motor up if it did. u think I should just drop the tank and empty it or what would work best?

StinkFinger
08-11-2006, 03:55 PM
id take it out and drain it then fix it or replace it

Tmax
08-11-2006, 03:58 PM
its no big deal at all. just try to drain as much of the fuel system as you can. the crab probably has water in it too but I wouldn't worry about it. once you've fixed the tank, fill it up with fresh fuel like only quarter full and add some fuel additive that also removes water. take it for a boot until it runs good again.

StinkFinger
08-11-2006, 03:59 PM
there is a drail on the carb you just pull it out let er drain throw it back in

Big_Ern
08-11-2006, 04:01 PM
you're gonna replace the tank just because of that??

oh and 40L for 150k isn't unreasonable considering your driving gravel roads, and also probably in low range a lot so your engine is working hard but you not going anywhere fast.

StinkFinger
08-11-2006, 04:02 PM

Murd0c
08-11-2006, 04:03 PM
I think I have water in the air filter with the be part of it? on the weekend saw some on the top. and I didn't wheel all that much in 2wd most the time when I was there

StinkFinger
08-11-2006, 04:04 PM

Murd0c

Big_Ern
08-11-2006, 04:13 PM
if you want to replace the tank, you need to find one from a carb'd truck Year isn't as important

but I would fix that tank instead of replacing it

Try cutting iff that piece then getting a union for it , double nuts with washers...boats use them all the time . .....wtf do they call them - threw hull fittings ?- or something like that

Murd0c
08-11-2006, 04:42 PM
piece is 2 small and it would need to be threaded for the union to fit. Just tempted to get the other tank save me hassle in the future. but I don't know.

StinkFinger
