where is coalmount mines?

Coalmont is just West of Princeton and you pass it going from Princeton to Tulameen. Go through Princeton on Bridge. St, over the wooden bridge & hang a left. You can't miss it.

Here's (http://groups.msn.com/GhostTownsofBC/history.msnw) a little info on Coalmont and here's (http://www.blakeburn-forgottenghosttown.ca/) some info on Blakeburn, which is nearer where that open mine is located.

Lots of history in that area, including Granite City, which was once the 4th (?) largest city in BC. You'd never know it now.

ps. looks like a bear on the trail to me.

I went through that tunnel once when my machine had a stator problem and my headlights weren't casting much light. Not fun to go through there essentially by brail. [15] Used the sound of the bike to diagnose my position. [16]

Ya...we just did and over nighter but we put 246k on that quad[36] it was 109 on the rail bead Sunday when we saw that doe. We stopped backup took pics looked at her for about 5 minutes and she was not going to move. the pic with the yellow post in it has and huge brown bear in it. I had to back up it was feeding on the berries and did not want to move it just stared me down. We found a huge mine shaft but I had forgotten my camera on the quad there was no way I was hiking back up to it in that heat to take pics of it. So next time.
