I was reading up on the alum 44 and they will make noise even though the bearings are within spec..

Something to do with the housing transmitting more noise than a steel one would..

I find it hard to believe that bearing noise is within spec. I can believe the dealer would tell people that just to get out of warranty claims.

why would a dealer want to get out of a warranty claim? isnt that just more business?
