can you put d44 knuckles on a d30 front end so i dont need to buy a $1200 hub kit?
my front end already has 4:88 gears, lockright locker and a cable conect, i just want hubs so i can drive on the street better or whats a good selectable locker(dont tell me arb i think they are garbage from previous experience)

Save yourself some money now by buying a real axle.
Oh, to answer your questions, you probably could cut the inner C's off, possibly weld some tube to the existing axle tube to make it the right diameter, weld D44 inner C's on, then run the Jeep inner axle shafts with 297X joints, and D44 outers/knuckles/hubs.
But, I really doubt it would be a good idea.

No you can't put the 44 knuckles on the YJ/XJ style dana 30s the ball joints on the 44 knuckles should be in the knuckles the ball joints on your dana 30 are in the housing
I haven't found a selectable locker yet that actually works right all the time they all seem to have some kind of problem or another.

Hmm. Seems it is slightly easier than I thought.
