origonally it was a Gold mining operation.
I think that is what they opened up for again in the 1980s when they punched the road up.
it used to be a 10 mile hike to the old site (1900s type old) in the bowl.
I love the view of Snow Creek from the summit on the southwest side of the bowl.
I havent been up there since the mid 80s
I always wanted to go to the old mine sites accross the vally to the northeast, looks like a steep bloody hike though

thanks for posting the pics

drive to Vernon
take Hwy6 East
cross the Arrow lakes at Needles to Fuaquier
drive north to Burton
turn right, is it called Mcormack Rd from the highway?
bear left at Caribou Creek road

I was just looking at google maps and it looks like the logging road goes right to the summit of Marshall mtn now. so much for hiking.
how do you post a link to a google map?

Awesome pics! [36] This means I am making a trip up Koch Ck sometime this year! Hope I can find the trail that leads into Burton.

I believe that's a mule inside the one adit. Never actually seen one, surprised they left it in there. I think they were electric?

Was there a breeze coming out of any of the adits you saw? If so, I'm in there!

Will be posting my pics sometime tonite for ya'll! Explored a few mines myself! :D
