first of all it's against the law to not be in gear when going down hill. and Don't have a clue it shouldn't stall if I was him I would take it to Toyota to get it checked out.

The problem starts with a 'T', ends with an 'A' and has 'YO' in it.

Narrowed it down for ya.

why the fuck is he putting it in nuetral going down hills?

maybe he went one gear too far and puts it in reverse? or shift linkage out of adjustment?

could also be some safety thing since its a new car

Does it start in neutral?

If he starts it in park and shifts into neutral does it die?

no vehicle should stall when shifted into neutral...

I was in a friends truck when he shifted into reverse at about 30km/hr..

that was an experience... nothing broke though..

ya sounds like he goes down hill and pops it from drive to N cause I guess hes thinking hes saving the tranny that way? I heard someone doing it before but WTF no real point. and when he Puts it in netruel it stalls out while going down the hill.

did I get any part of that right>?

Most new engine controls really go lean on deceleraton (decel en-lean) to improve mileage. I'ld suspect the non-stock intake/exaust slightly screws up the engine's switching from lean engine braking right to dead idle with the vehicle at road speed. Also he just shouldn't be doing that and the car knows it.

in automatics isnt the tailshaft lubed only when the tranny is in gear? causing your brother to seize his car if he does this alot?
