probably not a good idea considering its a unibody, but if you make a subframe for it you should be okay.

It shouldn't cost you much to do. Just a few sawzall blades or zip disks for the grinder

I have thought about doing it to my Four Runner...... I think a lift and lockers and winch and lights and body armour and.... and... and... will all make it a better trail rig first though[15] [15] [15]

Personally I'd do it.

The only reason I haven't done my 89 yet is... Wait, there's a couple.

-It's a DD
-Chopping the top of a unibody without a cage is stupid
-I already have a broken jeep that's worth nothing due to the 'mods'

But, if you tie a cage into it, and plate the lower part of the unibody, it'll be fun...

ya u have to build a cage plate the unibody[blah] or it will fold in half

i wouldnt do it without some sort of subframe connector and a cage, without the roof, theres no support if you even lean the roof into a tree

chopping it would be cool, you could even change the name of it to something original like say....Jeep Comanche![27]

The rainy season is just around the corner. I\d wait and put the coin into other upgrades. ie: winch, jack-all, straps, tires, lockers, strengthen the unibody, lift, etc.

Hack it in the spring.

I saw a primered XJ cruise by. Chopped, no cage, no stiffeners.

Longevity, no. But you can do it. It just might increase your RTI score by 2 fold or so!

should not fold till u open the doors lol or you could get a bronco and it comes right off lol then you can put it on again lol

dude lots of guys do this on cherokee boards. you just need to make sure you reinforce the structure with a cage.
