gots the motors and 1 tranny out. too fawkin hot, time too drink beer. also ordered my shifter, hurst prostick 2 truck model. itll sit just a little lower than the ole stick. might have to chop down my t-case handle, i think its gonna hit it when tranny in low tcase in 4 hi and 2. but it should look sweet and give the bitch some more leg room[49]

Its all out but one pos motor mount plate? fuken ford with fuken stupid rivet things.

lotsa room there now.
just waitin to go in. sketchy as fuck on those jacks.
the plate on the left was all bolted on. on the right there are three large rivets? why. just to piss me off. i was thinkin maybe somthin to do with engine rotation/torquing over, but why not bolts.
its not too clear a pic but ya can se the suspects there. i'm gonna grind en off, just gotta go get a good grinder. my 20$ FDtools pos is dead.
i also had this prob since lifting my truck. the d-shaft rubs just a little on the crossmember. i am planning on maybe lifitin a bit more and was wonrin how much it is to get me front axle cut and turned and where to go. I imagine that will solve my problem yes?

i pulled my straight six out too on the weekend, what tranny are you using? also, where do you get the 460 mounts and how much? this is helping me alot haha. did you fuck your rad support over too when you pulled the 6?

I Got the mounts of my parts truck. QUOTE]did you fuck your radsupport over too when you pulled the 6?[ [/QUOTE]

I had that motor out before, got pretty good at it. puttin the six in was a bitch. the 460 was actually pretty easy to get out of the parts truck. should go in quick. and the C6 with tcase is the same length as the 4speed n tcase, which was nice. d/shafts will work.

When I put a 460 in our bronko it had a 400m in it to begin with. The only problem we had was the oil filter/heater box on the drivers side was going to hit the front crossmember. To fix, I cut out an oval at the forward point on the frame and welded it back in upside down. This changed the problem point into a nice pocket and cleared it nicely. If yours has the same heatexchanger, filter relocator on it, it will probebly hit as well.

if ya have the mounts now you can pretty much just look. if the holes are in the right place than ur good to go. if ur plannin on bying/finding them, id just get somthing matching ur year/era. mine were easy to swap frome the parts truck to mine, except for a bit of grinding and hammerind to get the dside off. My motor will be in today but then im hooped till i get some more funds, ill let ya know how it goes.
